If you've ever attended a show "In The Round" at Thalia Hall, it turns any show into an ethereal experience. A stage is set in the middle of the main floor of the theater, allowing guests to circle the performing artist. Son Of A Gun opened the night with a garage rock fueled set, bringing all the summer vibes to warm up the crowd. After a short break, Paul Cherry got the crowd swaying with a melodic groove produced by his six piece band, members include drummer Matthew Roberts (Mild High Club), Shubu on synth (Producer for Dorian Electra), Ben Joseph on keys (Ezra Furman), JoJo Faught on bass, and Justin Vittori on percussion (Knox Fortune, JoeyJoey Michaels). Keep an eye out for Paul Cherry's album, due at the end of March. Ending the night, Chicago DIY pioneers White Mystery (Alex and Francis White), brought all the energy and enthusiasm expected from the sibling duo. Miss Alex had fun making use of the 360 view stage and gave everyone in attendance a performance to remember. She even wore a badass custom piece from Crystal Gravy (@crystalgravvvy), a local lady making one of a kind items for all the Rock-N-Roll babes of Chicago. If you ever see an event at Thalia Hall tagged as "In The Round", don't miss it, it will def be worth your ticket money!
